DAY 1 FOR NEW-BOY CAPELLO

The 61-year-old Italian arrived at the FA Headquarters in Soho Square early this morning to officially take over the post at the top of English football.

And as he was snapped by a group of photographers outside his new offices, Capello looked full of determination to for the task ahead.

Speaking about his forthcoming challenge he said: "It is a huge honour for me to today begin my work as England manager.

"I have wanted this job for a long time."

The former Real Madrid manager spent the weekend keeping a close watch on potential players at FA Cup ties at Villa Park and Kenilworth Road but didn't officially take over as Steve McClaren's successor until today.
