VICTORIA Beckham did little to endear herself to American Idol fans this week when she returned to the judging panel wearing a “Croydon facelift”.

The severe, scraped back hairstyle was a surprise choice for style icon Victoria Beckham.

Not least because it got its name after being adopted by “chav” teenagers in the south London borough.

The look succeeded only in making Posh Spice, 35, look rather brittle.

That’s an image she had been trying to shake with her poorly received guest judge spots on the US talent show.

A spokesman for celebrity London hair salon Neville said yesterday: “Victoria gets points for trying something but it won’t suit everyone.”

She also looked very thin as she sat next to Simon Cowell on the judging panel.

For her flight home to Britain after filming Victoria chose an informal floppy hairstyle, black shift dress, patterned tights and Louboutin heels.

Back in London, Simon was forced to pull out of judging the auditions for his ITV show Britain’s Got Talent after suffering a nasty bout of flu.
