Linvoy Primus has signed a new deal will Portsmouth

LINVOY Primus has agreed a new one-year deal with Portsmouth.

The 35-year-old, who will spend a 10th season at Fratton Park, is the longest-serving member of the squad.

And he will see his duties expanded to an ambassadorial and advisory role.

He said:  “I’m going to be working with the younger players on and off the pitch.

“I’m not going to be coaching them, I’m going to be more of an advisor, more of a mentor for them.

“I’m definitely going to finish my career here and then stay with the club when that finishes.

“In the two years that I haven’t played for the first team, the club have stood by me and looked after me.

“They made sure my knee is fine and have given me an opportunity to play and also given me the chance to move into a new role.”

Portsmouth have released Noe Pamarot, Lauren, Glen Little, Djimi Traore and Jerome Thomas so far this summer but aim to keep out-of-contract captain Sol Campbell.

The 34-year-old, however, has indicated he is unlikely to stay at Fratton Park.
