WILLIAMS SISTERS PLOT LONG-TERM SUPREMACY

Serena Williams and Venus Williams

Thursday July 2,2009

Venus and Serena Williams believe they can continue to dominate the women's game for years to come as they focus on making this year's final at Wimbledon another family affair.

Venus reached her semi-final with an easy win over Agnieszka Radwanska to meet world number one Dinara Safina, while Sister Serena faces another Russian in the form of Elena Dementieva.

"Being in the semi-finals again is obviously where I want to be right now," said Venus.

"I would love it to be an all-Williams final and so would Serena. That would be great."

Venus has appeared in seven finals in the past nine years, winning five, and although Wimbledon is where she has enjoyed her greatest triumphs, she also has two US Opens among the 41 titles she has collected.

She is also the only active player to have won more than 40 tour singles, despite being selective about her playing commitments.

Now she believes that the Williams sisters can continue playing for a long time to come.

"Most players like to play a little more than I do," added Venus. "But you have to find that happy medium of being part of a business plan that works and also doing what's best for me. I'd like to hang around a little longer in my career, too."

But while Venus claims she feels "almost invincible" when stepping out on to the grass at SW19, Serena is not so confident.

"I don't feel invincible," said Serena. "But I should definitely have the same attitude. I am going to try to feel that way too. Right now I'm just thinking about winning my next round, which is another tough match."
