Great article!

Jamboree, please do not include me in your "we are sick of it..." statement, as I am definitely not sick of any vaccine conversation.
And thank you John Stone for continuing to bring the truth to this horrid, child-injuring debate.

I work with a dear friend that listens to me but did not agrgee with me about the concerns for safety of many vaccines. She does now believe me about gardisil, as her teenage daughter now has many bouts with syncope. It is a normal day at work for her to receive a phone call about her daughter having passed out.
The statistics used to put fear in people about cervical cancer are not relavent for America. It is DEFINITELY not even in the top ten of concerns for female health. This vaccine apparently targets precancerous lesions, which is NOT cancer, and there is no knowledge of this vaccine actually preventing cancer. There is also no knowledge of what this vaccine may do to females in the future like creating a strain of cancer that we cannot treat.
The best prevention of cervical cancer is a yearly pap and not being sexually active without being smart about checking your partner , and yes, I do mean medically being checked, and using condoms.
And John, I am terrified at the prospect of this quickly put together vaccine for the swine flu. My household will most certaily NOT be getting this shot.
being proactive in your health has nothing to do with lining up to get shots for anything and everything around. It means being smart. Smart about what you eat. Smart about who you sleep with. And lets face it, there are things that are out of our control. It was out of my sons control when I vaccinated him and left him at the mercy of a pharmaceutical industry who no more cares for him than it does for me. What I learned? Think for myself. Don't let othes use FEAr to drive my choices. Be smart, read the studies and study the studies. Just because something is put in a nice clean package does not meant that that package is true. Yes, let's remember tobacco science. And a little Erin Brochovich (SP?) thrown in for good measure.
I understand that some vaccines are necessary. It was my choice as an adult to get or not get the Hep B vaccine. My children were not given that same dignity. They cannot get Hep B at school. They deserved the same dignity that all children of god deserve. They should of had a choice. It makes me sick when I think back to the conversation I had with our pediatrician about Hep B. It makes me sick because I listened to the fear. And now looking back, I do not even believe he believes what he was saying.
Just sick.
